We currently operate as an online store.

However, we regularly participate in Pasar Malams and maker markets around the Netherlands.

We enjoy the energy of these markets and the opportunity to connect with our community in person.

Our pieces are designed in Amsterdam, with production based in Jakarta and Bekasi, Indonesia.

We source our batik from local artisans in Cirebon, Garut, Pekalongan, and Lasem in West and Central Java, Indonesia.

Atelier Nyonya focuses on modern interpretations of traditional kebaya, with a current emphasis on kebaya kutubaru, and upcoming styles including kebaya Kartini and kebaya Janggan.

All pieces are produced in house in small batches, allowing us to maintain consistent quality, thoughtful design, and attention to detail.

Our designs are created to be versatile, suitable for both casual wear and more formal occasions, while staying rooted in cultural heritage.

Yes, in addition to kebaya, we also create ready to wear pieces using batik cloth, offering a contemporary way to incorporate heritage textiles into everyday dressing.

Our garments are produced in house with careful attention to craftsmanship and finishing. While not fully handmade, each piece goes through a detailed production process to ensure quality and consistency.

We work primarily with breathable and comfortable natural fabrics, including cotton voile, which is used for kebaya nyonya, as well as cotton, cotton poplin, cotton linen, linen, lace, and chiffon.

We currently do not use silk, as we prioritize materials that are lightweight, practical, and suitable for everyday wear.

We are committed to mindful production.

We aim to cut our fabrics as efficiently as possible to minimize production waste.

Also, batik fabric remnants from our garment making process are repurposed into accessories, extending the life of our materials.

We collaborate with small business owners, many of whom are women, supporting local craftsmanship and community growth.

At this time, we do not offer custom or made to measure sizing. All pieces are produced in standard sizes as listed on our website.

We recommend referring to our size guide available on each product page before placing your order. If you are between sizes, we suggest sizing up for a more comfortable fit.

Currently, we do not offer alteration services. You may choose to have your garment altered locally by a professional tailor if needed.

If your order has already been delivered, we offer size exchanges subject to availability. Please note that all shipping costs for exchanges are the responsibility of the customer.

Items purchased offline (e.g. at pasar) and final sale items are not eligible for return.
